Governor Steve Beshear was in Elkton this afternoon to make a long-awaited announcement.
The Governor announced Glass Door Solutions will soon open on West Main Street and will bring 110 jobs to the Todd County town within 14 to 20 months.
The plant will employ between 15 and 20 people at startup and up to 80 within a year. Company CEO and Chief Financial Officer Michael Stewart addressed the large crowd at the building in nearly perfect weather and said he had planned on staying retired until approached by one of his five co-owners a few months ago and everything quickly fell into place.
Operations Manger Shane Belcher announced there will be a job fair for the plant on June 4 from 3 until 6 pm at the Miliken Community House on West Main Street. Those interested in applying should come prepared to fill out an application on-site and should bring an updated resume. Applications are also available online at focuscareer.ky.gov.
Also speaking were Eston Glover of the Economic Development Council, Elkton Mayor Nancy Camp, Todd Judge-Executive Daryl Greenfield, John Walton of the Todd County Industrial Foundation, State Representative Martha Jane King and State Senator Whitney Westerfield.
