A Hopkinsville man was arrested Wednesday evening for allegedly choking his wife until she passed out.
Charged with first degree wanton endangerment and probation violation was 29-year old Christopher Cook of the city. The arrest citation from Officer Jeremy Marcum says Cook is accused of choking the woman until she passed out and of hitting her several times—leaving bruises.
The incidents happened Tuesday and the victim said she wasn't allowed to leave the home by Cook until Wednesday. She went to a relative's house and Cook showed up there, threatening to assault her again.
Cook was already on probation for assaulting his wife in January of this year. He was court-ordered to not have any violent contact with his wife.
