Christian Fiscal Court will hear first reading of a budget for the upcoming fiscal year at its second meeting this month, but magistrates will look over a rough draft in the meantime.
Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says he and Treasurer Walter Cummings collaborated on a draft that will now be sent to the eight magistrates to look over.
Judge Tribble says he isn't releasing all of the details on the budget just yet because it's only a rough draft, but says it's tentatively set to be a little over a million dollars more than the current year's 24.5 million dollar spending plan.
If the budget passes first reading on May 28th, it will be sent to the state for approval and second and final reading could be held in June. The county's fiscal year runs from July through June.
