A University Heights Academy student has been selected to participate in a program this summer at a Nashville Hospital.
Kloe Freeman, who is a junior at UHA, has been accepted as a STriVE summer teen volunteer at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. She will participate in this program during the month of July. Ms. Freeman was chosen was one of 16 students selected out of 60 for this program.
STriVE offers valuable insight into a variety of healthcare professions and gives the opportunity to work in multiple areas of the hospital with patients, siblings, and family members. The selection process consists of a multidisciplinary team of hospital staff reviewing all volunteer packets combined with personal interviews of each applicant.
Selection criteria includes previous volunteer and work experiences, GPA, leadership positions as a student, communication skills, ability to take initiative and interest in spending time with hospitalized children and their families.
