A Murray man was charged with DUI and first degree assault following a wreck Saturday night.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office was called to a wreck on Vanzora Road around 9:18 pm, according to a news release, which says 29-year old Jamie Morgan of Murray smelled of alcohol and admitted to consuming alcohol and prescription pills before driving.
The driver of the other vehicle, 25-year old Jakab Faughn of Benton, was trapped in his car and had to be cut from the wreckage. He was flown to an area hospital by helicopter for treatment of serious injuries. Police say Morgan was significantly in Faughn's lane of travel at the point of impact.
Police arrested Morgan and charged him with DUI and assault. He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail.
