A local woman who allegedly ran into a police cruiser and a house within a half hour time period Thursday morning was arrested on DUI charges.
The first incident happened around 7:40 on Skyline Drive, when Hopkinsville Police Officer Patricia Alexander pulled over 29-year old Ashley Buckingham of Hopkinsville for allegedly running a stop sign on Jan Drive.
Buckingham's vehicle rolled backward into the front of Officer Alexander's cruiser and she reportedly said she thought the car was in park. Officer Alexander cited her into court on charges of careless driving and for not having insurance.
About 30 minutes later, Buckingham allegedly ran off the road and into the side of a home at 2615 Nelson Drive. The woman reportedly told police she had taken several prescriptions. She performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was arrested on charges of DUI.
The home was severely damaged, but no one was injured in either incident.
