Repair work continues to be done at the Christian County Animal Shelter, which should be operating at full capacity within a couple weeks.
Shelter Director Irene Grace says there are a few more tasks to be done before the building will be in the condition it was before fire damaged the east wing.
Cash, food and kitty litter donations flooded in in the days following the fire and Ms. Grace says they can't thank the community enough.
Ms. Grace is encouraging those who helped the shelter in its time of need to also help the animals at Max's Hope Pet Rescue and the Christian County Humane Society. Both of those organizations did a great deal to make sure no animals had to be put down for lack of space in the days and weeks after the blaze.
