Seventeen agencies that are at least partially funded by Christian Fiscal Court are requesting additional money next fiscal year and will make their case at a series of hearings tomorrow and Thursday.
The Christian County Road Department will kick off the hearings tomorrow morning at 8:30 at the Christian County Jail Conference Room and they will continue through 4 p.m.
Judge-Executive Steve Tribble says it’s a chance for the agencies to explain why they need the additional funds.
Members of the panel can ask questions and get the information needed to make budget decisions, according to Judge Tribble.
Christian County Treasurer Walter Cummings says only the Hopkinsville-Christian County Emergency Communications Center asked for less funding next year. The Pennyrile Area Development District, Community Development Services, Economic Development Council and Pennryile Narcotics Task Force asked for the same funding as this year.
Judge Tribble says the county does everything it can to at least maintain the same amount of funding as the previous year when requested.
