Kentucky State Police investigated a wreck with injury involving a commercial vehicle in Hopkins County yesterday afternoon.
State Police say preliminary investigation revealed that around 3:50 p.m. A 2012 Freightliner semi-truck driven by 66-year old Samuel Sellers of Henderson was southbound on the Pennyrile Parkway at the 39 mile marker when for reasons that have yet to be determined, the semi-truck ran off the right side of the parkway and down an earth embankment coming to rest off the right side of the parkway.
State Police say Sellers was injured during the collision and taken to Baptist Hospital in Madisonville and was later transferred to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, Indiana due to his injuries.
Police say Sellers was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.
KSP was assisted at the scene by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, Medical Center Ambulance, and Grape Vine Fire Department.
