101st Airborne Division to conduct Purple Heart ceremony

A local soldier and Vietnam Veteran will be recognized for their bravery and selfless sacrifice during a ceremony next week.

Leaders with the 101st Airborne Division will be presenting Vietnam Veteran, Donnie Roach and Staff Sergeant Richard McLain with Purple Hearts.

The division’s Senior Acting Commander, Brigadier General, Mark Stammer will preside over the Purple Heart ceremony, which is scheduled to take place Tuesday morning at McAuliffe Hall.
