It didn’t pan out last year, but Christian Fiscal Court will try again at applying for a grant that would fund improvements at Western Hills Golf Course.

The facility co-owned by Christian County government and the City of Hopkinsville needs upgrades for its irrigation system, as described by Community Development Specialist Ashley Johnson.

Ms. Johnson says the back nine holes are currently being watered, but the system isn’t working as it should.

The grant would be for $65,000 and the county could pay its portion of the match through in-kind work. The golf course facilities would also pay part of the match. No other significant action was taken during the rather routine meeting.
