HPD to conduct DUI checkpoints this month

Hopkinsville Police will be conducting DUI checkpoints throughout the rest of the month in hopes of making the city a safer place to drive.

A news release from the department says the road blocks will be on various dates and locations throughout the city. Police say reducing alcohol-related injury or fatal collisions and providing safety to the community are top priorities.

The checkpoints are a way to reduce the number of impaired drivers and to hopefully make city streets safer to navigate.
