Former Christian County Assistant Superintendent suspended from Colorado school after assault accusation

A former assistant superintendent with the Christian County Public School System has been placed on administrative leave with pay over allegations he assaulted a woman in another district.

According to the Park County Republican and Fairplay Flume, a Colorado based newspaper, Rim Watson was placed on leave by Platte Canyon School District Superintendent Jim Walpole.

Watson is the Principal at Fitzsimons middle school and according to a story published by the newspaper, a woman filed a complaint with the local sheriff’s office and accused him of assaulting her during a school accountability meeting that took place Tuesday, March 5th.

A witness to the event told the paper Watson “lightly touched” the woman during the course of the conversation.

Watson was quoted as saying that he looked forward to putting this matter behind him and that an investigation will conclude no wrongdoing on his part.
