Hopkinsville Mayor offers update on city's proposed Rails to Trails project

Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp joined the Early Bird show this morning to talk about several local events and he also highlighted the city’s proposed Rails to Trails project.

Mayor Kemp gave an update about the project that he says will be a great addition to the community.



Mayor Kemp also stated residents are encouraged to make a financial contribution to make the project a reality.



Mayor Kemp says he hopes to raise $400,000 in private donations and he commented that several local businesses have expressed their interest in becoming a donor.

The total estimated cost of the project is $1.8 million and once its completed, the trails will feature a safe place for residents to walk and run and enjoy the outdoors
