Two convicted sex offenders were arrested on gun charges Thursday after Hopkinsville Police checked to be sure they were meeting registry requirements.

The reports say both 49-year old Michael Lee Eddy of Crofton and 68-year old Fred Luttrell of Herndon are on the sex offender registry and officers checked in on them at their homes.

Police say several guns were in plain view at the home of Luttrell and that further investigation turned up drug paraphernalia. At least 29 guns are listed on the report as being in the home. Luttrell was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest card for Eddy says he gave police consent to search his home, where they found a handgun and rifle. Eddy was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm and handgun by a convicted felon.
