Man killed in local factory accident

A man died after being trapped under a robotic welder at a local factory last night.

The incident happened around 7:15 at Martinrea on Frank Yost Lane. The initial call came out as a man trapped under a welding robot and it took crews several minutes to get the victim out from under the equipment.

An Air Evac helicopter landed near Martinrea and waited, but responders took the victim to Jennie Stuart Medical Center while performing CPR on the way. The Kentucky New Era reports the man identified as Jason Sholar died at the hospital around 10:20 last night.
