| Clarksville woman charged with DUI after hitting wrecker at accident scene |
|
Clarksville Police arrested a woman on DUI charges last night who allegedly ignored commands at a wreck scene and hit a wrecker head-on. A news release from Public Information Officer Jim Knoll says officers were on the scene of a two-vehicle wreck with injuries around 9:30 on Tiny Town Road near Peachers Mill Road and had westbound traffic blocked off. That’s when 29-year old Mandy May of Clarksville was directed to go straight out of a parking lot to avoid the scene, but allegedly turned right instead and side-swiped a police cruiser before hitting a wrecker head-on. Officers found her uninjured, but noticed a smell of alcohol on her. Police say she failed field sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with DUI. ** 03/07/2013/am |
