Hopkinsville Police are investigating a shooting that took place this afternoon and are asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest.

Captain Michael Seis offers more information concerning the shooting incident.

Captain Seis explains why Leavell is wanted for questioning.

Captain Seis says the male victim, 21-year old Demario Bennett, was responsive when police arrived, but provided limited information concerning the shooting.

Police at this time believe the shooting did not take place at an 1848 Greenville Road residence where the victim was found and subsequently transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center shortly after police arrived on the scene. Bennett was flown from the Air Evac helipad to another hospital soon after his arrival.
