An icy bridge led to a wreck in Calloway County Saturday morning that claimed the life of a young Louisville woman. A news release from Kentucky State Police says 20-year old Shelby Theiss of Louisville was westbound on Highway 94 around 7:30 when she lost control of her vehicle on an ice-covered bridge. Her vehicle went into the other lane of traffic and struck a tractor-trailer driven by 63-year old William Blackford of Murray head-on. Rescue crews cut Ms. Theiss from the wreckage and she was taken by ambulance to Murray-Calloway County Hospital where she died soon after arrival. State Trooper Jody Cash was assisted by Murray Police, the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky Commercial Vehicle Enforcement and Calloway County Fire and Rescue. ** 03/02/2013/am
