Walker Russell Hill
Three local men have been arrested and charged with vandalizing forty tombstones at Rosedale Cemtery in Pembroke.
A news release from Christian County Sheriff’s Captain Chris Miller says Investigator Ed Stokes picked up three suspects for questioning Wednesday and that the men admitted to damaging the gravesites and to stealing a cross from the property. Total damage is listed at $2,000.
During the interview, the men also allegedly admitted to throwing eggs at Pembroke Baptist Church late last year and to providing illegal narcotics to a minor.
Deputy Stokes arrested 19-year old Phillip Boyd Walker and 20-year old James Robert Russell of Pembroke and 19-year old George Hill of Hopkinsville. All three were charged with 40 counts of violating a gravesite, one count of theft by deception, criminal mischief and unlawful transaction with a minor under the age of 16.
They were lodged in the Christian County Jail on $25,000 bond. Pembroke Police Chief Mark Goforth assisted in the investigation.
