Princeton gets AT&T 4G upgrade

AT&T customers in Caldwell County can surf the web faster on their mobile devices after an upgrade to 4G service earlier this week.

The Princeton Times Leader reports the switch was flipped on 4G service for most of Caldwell County Monday. It was a major upgrade, as the county was previously limited to 2G service.

AT&T Regional Manager Sim Davenport said facilities were already in place in Princeton for a 4G upgrade, so the company was able to skip right to the faster speeds.

One exception to the improvements is the Lamasco tower, which services the south end of Caldwell County. Davenport said that tower may be included in a Trigg County upgrade planned for the spring or early summer.

Eddyville, Dawson Springs and St. Charles also recently had their AT&T towers upgraded to 3G service.
