Hopkinsville teen injured in wreck

A Hopkinsville teen was taken to the hospital following a wreck on Academy Drive Monday evening.

The report from Officer Travis Shown says 17-year old Joseph Whitfill of Hopkinsville was eastbound on Academy around 5:30. Whitfill reportedly looked down for a moment and when he looked back up, it was too late to avoid hitting a vehicle driven by 16-year old Sheldon King, who was turning into a residence.

Whitfill was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, while King went uninjured.
