A single-vehicle wreck on U.S. 79 in Todd County Saturday evening sent a Texas man to an area hospital.

Todd County Sheriff Joey Johnson says 39-year old Carlos Estrada of Houston, Texas was northbound near Walton’s Curve about two miles north of KY 848 around 5:40 when he failed to negotiate the curve and ran off the right shoulder of the road.

Estrada’s SUV traveled several feet before overturning and coming to rest on its side. Estrada was pulled from the wreckage by the Todd County Rescue Team and taken by ambulance to Allensville, where an Air Evac helicopter was waiting.

He was flown to an area hospital for what officials said appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The Allensville Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the incident scene.
