A woman says she was raped in Clarksville this week after agreeing to meet with a man whom she contacted on a phone chat line. Clarksville Police Public Information Officer Jim Knoll says the 53-year old woman had been chatting with 44-year old Ratrellis Garnett of North Augusta, Georgia on the phone and agreed to meet him at a service station on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. The woman agreed to go with the man to his hotel room for drinks and that’s when he allegedly sexually assaulted her multiple times. Police say the victim had visible scratches on her forehead and a small bump over her right eye. She was taken to the hospital by police. Garnett was arrested and charged with aggravated rape and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Montgomery County Jail on $75,500 bond. ** 02/22/2013/am |
