The Clarksville Police Department continues to find ways to reduce the number of wrecks happening throughout the city.
The department’s patrol and traffic enforcement officers were out in full force Wednesday on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, an area known for constant traffic congestion, from 3 to 5 p.m.
As a result of the officers’ presence, 75 citations were issued, which included various traffic violations such as texting while driving, driving on a suspended or revoked license, speeding and not wearing a seat belt.
Clarksville Police say traffic enforcement specials will continue on Wilma Rudolph, as personnel resources permit, with additional emphasis being placed on texting and driving. ** (02/21/2013/MF)
