A man accused of assaulting his wife Wednesday had additional charges tacked on after police say he spit in their faces while being arrested.

Thirty-five year old Shane Hutson of Buckner Drive is accused of going to the victim’s home and punching her in the face. He then allegedly kicked her and slammed her head onto the floor before making her drive him to his mother’s house.

When Christian County Sheriff’s deputies confronted him on Thrush Drive, he allegedly refused to comply with orders and spat in their face while cussing them and attempting to jerk away.

The report says he also spat at a deputy in the cruiser while being placed into custody. Hutson was arrested and charged with fourth degree assault, assault of a police officer and disorderly conduct.
