A Todd County man was arrested Wednesday night after he was allegedly caught stealing ingredients to make methamphetamine. The arrest citation for 26-year old Shane Gilkey of Pond River Road, Elkton says two members of the Christian County Sheriff’s Office were doing surveillance at Crop Production Service in Pembroke around 11:30pm. Police say Gilkey showed up and began to transfer anhydrous ammonia from the facility’s tanks into a metal thermos. Gilkey was arrested and charged with theft of anhydrous ammonia, tampering with anhydrous ammonia and possession of the substance in an unapproved container with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine. All three charges are Class B felonies and Gilkey was lodged in the Christian County Jail on $25,000 bond. ** 02/21/2013/am |
