A ceremony and reception was held Friday night to honor longtime former State Senator Joey Pendleton, who said he was humbled by the large turnout.
There was standing room only in the front reception room of the Bruce Convention Center, where elected officials and friends from across western Kentucky showed up to wish Senator Pendleton well in retirement.
Pendleton said he was blessed by the showing of support.
Senator Pendleton says he’s staying busy when he wants to, but is enjoying the perks that come with retirement.
Pendleton was recognized for all of his contributions to the region and to Kentucky, but was spotlighted in particular for his longtime commitment to agriculture. Senator Pendleton served Christian, Todd, Logan and many other surrounding counties at some point for two decades.
