Kentucky State Police arrested a man wanted on warrants in Calloway County yesterday after a foot and vehicle pursuit that ended without anyone being hurt.
A news release says troopers responded to a disturbance on Ridgeland Drive in Mayfield around 7:40am and saw a man identified as 39-year old Jason Andrews of Mayfield run from the building.
Soon after a construction worker nearby called in a stolen vehicle report. The stolen pickup was later found parked on the railroad tracks with four flat tires and police found him and his girlfriend in another vehicle soon after and a chase ensued.
KSP Sgt. Bill Lockwood called off the pursuit for safety reasons, but Andrews was located again soon after and was caught after a brief foot chase. Andrews was arrested and charged with fleeing and evading police, driving on a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance and was served with two warrants out of Calloway County. Additional charges are forthcoming.
His girlfriend was arrested for allegedly providing assistance to a fugitive.
