Both of Kentucky’s U.S. Senators say they were disappointed with President Obama’s State of the Union Address Tuesday night.

Senator Rand Paul of Bowling Green issued the Tea Party response and said it’s time for Democrats and Republicans to be honest with themselves and look to cut wasteful spending wherever it may be.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says he wanted to hear more plans on how to get the economy back on track and how the country can work to create new jobs.

Senator Paul encouraged the Tea Party to stand firm and fight proposed tax increases and to reduce regulation to let the economy grow again.
