Muhlenberg Co. wreck injures one

A wreck in Muhlenberg County Sunday afternoon injured a passenger.

Kentucky State Police say 47-year old Steven Cottrell of Powderly swerved to avoid a vehicle that was stopped in front of him on US 431 just after 1pm. Cottrell’s pickup hit a mailbox and a tree before coming to rest in a ditch.

He went uninjured but his wife, 44-year old Debbie Cottrell, was taken by ambulance to Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Police say both individuals were wearing a seat belt.
