Former Senator Joey Pendleton is being honored with a reception later this month for his many years in public service.
The Christian County Democratic Executive Committee and the Democratic Woman's Club will be hosting a reception on Friday, February 15th at the James E. Bruce Convention Center from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Pendleton lost his bid for re-election in the fall 2012 election after serving in the General Assembly for 20 years representing, at various times, Christian, Todd, Trigg, Muhlenberg, and Logan Counties.
Pendleton is credited for having a hand in increasing the speed limit on Highway 68/80 and bringing cell phone service for Todd County and lights at the Princeton exit of the Western Kentucky Parkway, just to name a few.
The public is also invited attend the reception to thank Pendleton for a job well done. ** (02/08/2013/MF)
