In what Clarksville Police are calling one of the most bizarre cases they have seen, a man who reportedly built a shrine for a nine year old girl has been arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching her.

A news release from Clarksville Police says 63-year old Lenzo Grooms of Oak Street owned a photography business and had taken pictures of one particular girl on multiple occasions.

On one occasion, Grooms allegedly took the child into a bedroom he set up for only her and rubbed lotion on her inappropriately and touched her in an inappropriate way.

When the girl told her mother what happened, she kept her away from Grooms and police say that’s when he showed up at where the girl once lived and made threats to kill the child if he couldn’t see her.

Clarksville Police utilized its tactical unit to serve an arrest warrant on Grooms Friday morning on sexual battery and criminal trespass charges. Public Information Officer Jim Knoll says Grooms has a criminal history that contains second degree murder and robbery charges.

He was lodged into the Montgomery County Jail on $106,000 bond.
