| Area school systems thankful for relatively mild winter |
|
Snow lovers have likely not enjoyed this year’s relatively mild winter, but it could pay off with better test scores for local school systems. Todd County School System Superintendent Wayne Benningfield says the schedule gets thrown off-kilter when school has to let out for snow and it can definitely cause some problems.
Benningfield says making the days up at the end of the school calendar often means at least some of the important content included on the late-year assessment testing isn’t covered until after the tests have been taken.
Winter is by no means over, but the current seven day weather forecast doesn’t show any chance of snowfall in our foreseeable future. ** 02/08/2013/am |
