A Hopkinsville High School student has been named a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.
Senior Grey Campbell was selected as a finalist and received his official notification letter earlier this week. Approximately 16,000 semifinalists were named and 90 percent were selected as finalists nationwide. About 8,300 will be named winners and they could receive up to a full college scholarship.
Campbell is involved in many extracurricular activities at Hopkinsville High and is Vice President of the HHS Spirit Club, Secretary of the Beta Club and is an active member of the Future Business Leaders of America.
He is also a member of the tennis, swim and soccer teams.
