Austin Peay State University has been named one of the nation’s top military friendly schools.

APSU received that distinction by the Military Advanced Education magazine in the publication's 2013 Guide to America’s Top Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities.

Officials say the magazine, which has been in publication since 2005, provides information for military education service officers, transition officers and other top-level commands who work closely with service members, veterans and their families during active duty, transition and post-transition to optimize their armed forces educational benefits.

APSU is one of six schools in Tennessee to make the Top Military-Friendly list and was also recognized by GI Jobs magazine on its 2013 Military Friendly list and by Military Times magazine in its "2013 Best for Vets" ranking.
