Local farm worker accused of hitting farmer with tobacco stick

A farm worker was arrested Tuesday on second degree assault charges for allegedly hitting the farmer he was working for with a tobacco stick.

Charged with second degree assault was 19-year old Derrick Bacon of Tuggle Road, Cadiz. Bacon was working for a farmer at 1500 Gracey-Sinking Fork Road when he allegedly got into an argument with the farmer who isn’t identified on the arrest citation.

Bacon is accused of striking the farmer in the face and then allegedly struck him with a tobacco stick. The victim was taken to the hospital to be checked out and Bacon was booked into the Christian County Jail.
