Preliminary statistics released by Kentucky State Police indicates that four people died in four separate crashes on Kentucky’s roadways from Monday, January 28th through Sunday.
Two single-fatality, motor vehicle crashes occurred in Floyd County with one of the victims not wearing a seat belt.
A single-fatality, motor vehicle crash occurred in Carlisle and Rowan Counties with neither victim wearing a seat belt and the crash in Carlisle County involved the suspected use of alcohol.
State Police say there were no fatal wrecks in Christian, Todd, Trigg, Muhlenberg and Logan Counties during this time.
Through Sunday, preliminary statistics indicate that 45 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2013, which is 17 less than what was reported for this time period last year.
State Police say of the 37 motor vehicle fatalities, 21 victims were not wearing seat belts and 10 fatalities involved the suspected use of alcohol.
