A woman who became well known because of the movie “The Blind Side” will be the featured speaker at Austin Peay State University next week.

Collins Tuohy was depicted along with her family in the 2010 movie that gained national acclaim. It told the story of Michael Oher, who went from being homeless to being adopted by the Tuohy family and becoming very successful on the football field to the point he was a member of the Baltimore Ravens team that won the Super Bowl Sunday.

Oher would become Collins’ adopted brother and she will speak on the experience February 11^th at 7pm in the Clement Auditorium as part of the school’s annual Unity Celebration.

The program will be titled “Behind ‘The Blind Side’: Overcoming Obstacles in the Face of Adversity.”
