| CCHS participating in effort to clothe homeless children |
|
Christian County High School is participating in a national campaign to gather clothing for the country’s homeless population. The “Teens for Jeans” drive is an effort to clothe the 1.7 million homeless people under the age of 18 in the United States. Christian County High School has a goal to collect 5,000 pairs of jeans at the school and from other schools and the local community. Young people in Christian County are encouraged to look through their closets and dressers for old jeans they don’t want anymore and to ask family and friends to do the same. The school does ask that the jeans don’t contain rips, snags or holes unless they were purchased that way. Jeans are needed for both genders and in all sizes and can be dropped off to Diane Pyle at the Youth Services Center at Christian County High. The effort began January 18th and ends February 8th. ** 02/05/2013/am |
