| Two new HPD officers complete training |

Two new Hopkinsville Police Officers graduated from the law enforcement academy last week. Completing the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training program were Hopkinsville Police Officers Robert Hadley and Cory Smith. They were part of a class of 30 who completed 18 weeks of training that consisted of nearly 770 hours of recruit-level-officer academy instruction. The training includes homeland security, law offenses, vehicle operations, firearms, investigations, first aid, patrol procedures, orientation and the mechanics of an arrest. Also graduating in the class were Marvin Mefford of the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office and Scott Deshields and Derek Muscovalley of the Murray Police Department. ** 02/04/2013/am |
