A Louisville man was arrested in Hopkinsville early yesterday morning for allegedly driving drunk for the third time in the last five years.
Hopkinsville Police Officer Roger Stephens pulled over 38-year old Courtney Barnett of Louisville on Fort Campbell Boulevard around 3:30 yesterday morning for going 51 in a 35 mph zone.
Officer Stephens writes he smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Barnett and that Barnett failed field sobriety test. A computer check revealed two prior DUI’s and the citation says Barnett blew a .174 on the breath test—over twice the legal limit.
Barnett was arrested and charged with aggravated DUI, driving on a suspended license, failure to maintain insurance, improper registration plate and speeding.
