One injured after motorist turns in front of Clarksville Police cruiser

A Clarksville Police Department cruiser was in a wreck Friday night when another motorist reportedly failed to yield the right of way and drove into its path.

A news release from Public Information Officer Jim Knoll says 20-year old Jessica Sheppard of was attempting to turn left off Fort Campbell Boulevard onto Quinn Lane and drove into the path of a southbound police cruiser operated by Officer Arthur Bing.

Officer Bing complained of some hand, wrist and arm pain but didn’t go to the hospital. A passenger of Ms. Sheppard did go to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Ms. Sheppard, who has a learner’s permit, was cited for failure to yield and failure to wear a seat belt.
