Clarksville Police Officer honored for saving a life

Family, friends, co-workers, public officials filled the Clarksville Police Department’s briefing room early this morning to recognize a local police officer, who helped save a man’s life.

Clarksville Police Sergeant Johnny Ferguson, was presented with a Lifesaver Award for his quick and decisive actions that saved the life of 51-year old Tommy Bowles of 422 Parker Drive after he was found unresponsive at this residence.

Police say when Sergeant Ferguson arrived at the residence, he immediately checked Bowles for obstructions and began chest compressions until EMS arrived.

Tommy and Mary Bowles were present for this morning’s award ceremony.
