Kentucky State Police arrested a hospital nurse in Muhlenberg County Wednesday accused of stealing medication from her patients.

A news release from KSP says a complaint was received from Muhlenberg Community Hospital in reference to a nurse stealing medication. An investigation turned up that 38-year old Jennifer Whitney of Greenville was allegedly replacing some of her patients’ prescription pills with over the counter products.

Detective Brandon McPherson was able to obtain an arrest warrant against Ms. Whitney and she was taken into custody during a traffic stop around 1:40pm Wednesday in Muhlenberg County.

She was charged with theft of a controlled substance and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Jail.
