Clarksville Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect they describe as a career criminal.

Police are searching for 56-year old Ray Anthony Farmer, who they say has expanded his crime spree beyond the boundaries of Clarksville-Montgomery County.

Farmer has amassed about 28 warrants in Cadiz, Guthrie and Davidson County since he left a halfway house in September 2012.

Police say the majority of the warrants are felonies and the latest local warrant on file for his arrest concerned a burglary of a commercial business that happened on Monday January 21st at the Tennessee/Kentucky line. 

Police say Farmer has caused tens of thousands of dollars of damage to buildings or alarm systems and taken thousands of dollars of money or merchandise.

Police say he was released from the Tennessee Department of Corrections to a halfway house in July 2012 after serving approximately 5 ½ years for burglary and at some point, Farmer, left the halfway house prior to completion of his time and ended up back in Clarksville in September 2012.
Law enforcement agencies in Kentucky and Tennessee have been working together in an effort to locate and capture Farmer, but he still remains at large. 

Farmer’s typical methodology includes spending time in a business before breaking in and normally breaks into businesses over the weekends and disables the alarm systems by cutting lines or ripping alarm boxes out by and uses a crowbar to pry or break doors.
