Lawmaker still optimistic on re-districting after meeting

MYRON

One local state lawmaker says a meeting on re-districting in Frankfort Tuesday resulted in few new details, but left him feeling optimistic.

Ninth District State Representative Myron Dossett of Pembroke says the bi-partisan Western Kentucky Caucus met and received input regarding how the boundaries will be re-drawn this year.

Representative Dossett says he isn’t sure how much his input regarding Christian County will be utilized considering he’s in the minority party, but he’s hopeful things will be much different from last year.

The General Assembly must get the job done again this year. Governor Steve Beshear wants it done in a special session, but it’s looking more and more like lawmakers will try it during the 30-day regular session.
