The City of Hopkinsville has upgraded its early weather alerting system to include winter storm warnings.

The city provides weather warnings through a service called CodeRED Weather Warning, a service of Emergency Communications Network.

Through CodeRed, residents will receive severe thunderstorm, flash flood and tornado warnings through telephone calls to their homes and businesses as well as email and text messages to their cell phones.

The CodeRED system upgrade comes at no additional cost to the City of Hopkinsville’s current contract with ECN.
