Clarksville Police searching for vehicle thief

Clarksville Police want to raise the awareness of people leaving their keys in an unattended or running vehicle and are asking for the public’s help in solving a recent theft case.

On Friday, January 25, around 8:45 am, police say a 20 year old woman parked her vehicle at one of the gas pumps at the Shell Station, 600 Rossview Road and left the keys inside of the vehicle and went into the Shell Station.

The victim told police when she returned to her vehicle, it was stolen by an unknown person.
A short time later, officers located the stolen vehicle at 920 Power Street, in front of Lot 9.

Police say after reviewing surveillance video from the Rossview Road gas station, it was determined the suspect stood by the brick pillars at the gas pumps , waited for a customer to leave the vehicle, and then look to see whether the keys were in the vehicle.

Witnesses described the suspect as a 5 foot 11 male in his 30’s weighing about 150-170 pounds with a goatee.

Residents with information about his case are urged to call Clarksville Crime Stoppers at 931-645-8477.
