One of the individuals heavily impacted by the weather said it felt like just any other storm at first.

George Simms says he was at home with his wife and son when the storm hit in the early morning hours on KY 117. Simms says he didn’t hear a train or any other unusual noise until his roof came off.

Simms says he was thankful that no one was hurt and that he has insurance to replace what can be replaced.

A path of damage can be seen along KY 117 extending to Miller’s Mill Road where additional homes and businesses are damaged.
